The countdown for several college basketball players testing the NBA draft waters has started.
Under the NCAA rules, the deadline to withdraw from the draft and play another season in college is set for Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. ET. For athletes who entered the draft just to see where they stand or note whether they will be picked in the first round, they must make their stand clear or lose college basketball eligibility for good.
Which NBA Draft Players Still Need to Make a Choice?
Several high-profile names have already made their decision. Rueben Chinyelu withdrew and will return to Florida. Meanwhile, Christian Anderson and Allen Graves have reportedly committed to staying in the draft after strong pre-draft showings.
However, there are still some who have yet to make their stand clear.
Milan Momcilovic
Momcilovic had a breakout season with Iowa State before he decided to enter the draft. Should he decide to withdraw, programs like Kentucky, Arizona, and St. John’s, will be on top for his commitment.
Koa Peat
Peat seems to have improved upon his stock in the pre-draft process. There’s a good chance he stays in the draft, where he is projected to be selected in the mid-to-late first round of the 2026 NBA Draft.
Meleek Thomas
Just like Peat, Thomas will also likely remain in the draft. He is projected to be a late first-round to early second-round pick.
Billy Richmond
Richmond’s case is a bit different and it could be a toss-up between the two scenarios. The Arkansas standout might consider returning to college and improving his draft stock.
Jeremy Fears Jr.
While Fears Jr. has not made his decision known, he weighed his pros and cons in favor of returning to college.
Andrej Stojaković
The son of former NBA star Peja Stojaković has intrigued many NBA teams, but he might return to college and raise his long-term stock.
The decision of many of this star are often made based on whether they have a guaranteed nod in the first round. Because those picks enjoy guaranteed contracts, allowing them to earn handsomely despite turning pro. Meanwhile, others think they will earn well with NIL and boost their profile so that they can be a first-round selection next year.
