Dusty May has not rested much since winning the title, nor has he got to fully celebrate his victory, as after winning the national championship, he infamously went back to work, going for the transfer portal as it opened shortly after they won. Now, after getting Tennessee big man JP Estrella, May may be landing another big one in a prospect from the ACC.
According to Rivals.com’s Jamie Shaw, May is currently in talks with Wake Forest wing Juke Harris, a combo guard who could light up the score board. He was considered one of the most improved players in the ACC, averaging 21.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game for the Daemon Deacons last season. He is also a good three-point shooter at 33.2% and scored a career-high against Boston College with 38.
While Harris is testing the waters for the NBA draft, he is projected to return to play college ball for next season. Should he return, he could benefit from being part of a title-winning program like Michigan. However, Dusty May better act fast, as Harris has reportedly been talking to other schools as well, including North Carolina, NC State, Tennessee, and Texas Tech.
For now, Harris has not decided on where to go yet, but it may happen soon. May may also reach for more players in the transfer portal, as there is still over a week to go, as the portal closes on April 21.
Which Players Have Michigan Lost During the Transfer Portal?
While Michigan has gotten a big commitment from power forward JP Estrella, the Wolverines have also lost two big prospects in guard Winters Grady and seven-foot center Malick Kordel. Kordel did not play as much and is now looking for a new home.
As for Grady, he used to be a five-star prospect and was Michigan’s biggest recruit last year. However, he had a season-ending injury and was not able to play as much under Dusty May.
