Koa Peat and Meleek Thomas Receive Advice on Draft Hopes as NBA Executives Make Feelings Clear

It’s almost decision time for some of the top athletes in college basketball as the NBA Draft nears and they decide whether they want to stay in college, earn NIL money and continue helping their programs achieve glory, or take a chance and fulfil their life’s goals by declaring for the NBA Draft.

With several players still undecided about their draft future, renowned college hoops journalist Jeff Goodman has taken to X to reveal his conversations with several NBA executives about which prominent names should stick to college or try their luck in the NBA.

As mentioned in the tweet, Koa Peat has received a majority of “stay in college” chants from the NBA execs, suggesting he shouldn’t bother himself too much with the draft considering there’s no guarantee he would be an early pick.

The 19-year-old has been instrumental in the Arizona Cardinals’ ascent, but clearly has a lot of time left before he absolutely needs to go pro, which is probably why he’s being advised to stay put and help the Cardinals this season too.

Meleek Thomas is another big name in the list, but his fortunes seem a bit different, with an overwhelming majority of NBA executives telling him to stay in the draft amid some serious interest from teams in the 19-year-old Arkansas Razorbacks star.

Peat and Thomas aren’t the only noticeable names on the list, with most others being told to stay in college including Malachi Moreno, Flory Bidunga, Milan Momcilovic, Andrej Stojakovic and more.

Christian Anderson and Allen Graves are the other two players receiving the thumbs up for the NBA while the jury is still out on the future of Tounde Yessoufou with an equal number for both the draft and sticking with college.
