Milan Momcilovic’s commitment to Kentucky has sent the Big Blue Nation (BBN) into raptures and rightfully so. The Iowa State transfer brings him a different level of quality that the Wildcats were perhaps lacking, and is set to breathe new life into the program.
Head coach Mark Pope had been under pressure to deliver a big name to the Lexington outfit, and he’s pulled off probably the biggest one in the transfer portal, with reports suggesting that the Momcilovic move cost Kentucky upwards of $6 Million.
And the big man will seemingly be welcomed into his new home with open arms not just from the public, but also by his teammates, with one freshman taking to X to hype up the fans following a welcome addition.
Mason Williams is a freshman and a four-star recruit that himself committed to Kentucky earlier this year, and seemingly has much to look forward to in terms of teammates.
Other than Momcilovic, Williams will also play alongside Malachi Moreno, who withdrew from the NBA Draft to return to the program where he’s been one of the main men. Moreno himself was a four-star recruit who impressed in his freshman year, making the SEC All-Freshman team this year thanks to his exploits.
Fans Excited for Momcilovic’s Arrival
Mason Williams’ message appeared to work as fans flooded the comment section with their thoughts on Momcilovic’s arrival.
“Excited for a Winning Season!! We are the BBN!!,” one fan said.
“GO BIG BLUE,” another fan commented.
“We are so back!!,” a fan excitedly commented.
“It’s going to be a great season,” an optimistic fan said.
“The talent with you all on that roster is scary. I for sure think 9 is in the convo here! Let’s go!,” a fan predicted.
Fans have every right to be excited. With Moreno and Momcilovic leading the way, Mark Pope now has some serious momentum within his squad, and a strong start to the new NCAA campaign will be the next target for the Wildcats.
