All eyes are on Milan Momcilovic after he announced that he was returning to college basketball despite initially declaring for the NBA Draft.
Many suggested that had he stayed, he could have been a first-round pick, but Momcilovic decided to withdraw, and perhaps an NIL deal rumored to be north of $6 million had something to do with it.
His decision has members of the Big Blue Nation (BBN) excited about what’s to follow. In anticipation, fans have already begun wondering when the Iowa State transfer will show up in Lexington to begin working with Mark Pope and his coaching staff, and it appears local insiders have the answer.
Kentucky Sports Radio reported that Milan Momcilovic will head to Kentucky on Saturday afternoon to begin working with the coaching staff and get acquainted with his new surroundings.
Momcilovic picked Kentucky over Arizona and Louisville.
What Will Milan Momcilovic Bring to Mark Pope’s Squad?
Milan Momcilovic was arguably the best shooter in the 2025-26 college basketball season, and will bring some of this quality to Kentucky once he steps foot in Lexington.
At 6-foot-8 and 210 pounds, the 21-year-old is known for his strength and reach, as well as his shooting and scoring, adding much-needed size to Mark Pope’s Wildcats.
He’s expected to fit seamlessly into Pope’s high-octane system, making point-scoring a priority. With Malachi Moreno also rejoining, Kentucky is poised to compete for the SEC crown.
