The Iowa State Cyclones and Tennessee Volunteers are set to square off in a matchup that will determine which program has enough of the special touch to advance to the final eight. However, one key indicator of a team’s success is its health.
One injury could change a team’s prospects overnight, and both teams have something worth keeping an eye on with one key player. Here’s a look at what’s going on with both teams in the injury department.
Iowa State Injury Report
The Iowa State Cyclones appear to be relatively healthy as far as it is publicly known. One player at the front of the team’s mind is Joshua Jefferson. The forward is working his way back from an ankle injury and is “continuing to progress,” according to a Tuesday update from College Basketball Insider Jon Rothstein on X.
If Jefferson is unable to play, the team will miss out on his recent run of at least 16 points per game.

Tennessee Volunteers Injury Report
According to a Thursday report by Sports Illustrated, Nate Ament has been seemingly the biggest known injury concern for the team. Ament, who had missed a significant portion of the last three weeks due to an ankle injury, managed to suit up for the team’s showdown against the Virginia Cavaliers on Sunday.
In the contest, he logged 29 minutes and managed to score 16 points, although his shot appeared to be off with just four field goals in 11 attempts. Still, his total at the end of the night was his second-highest point total in the last five games (27 points against the Auburn Tigers on Mar. 12).
