    Things are heating up in the 2026 NCAA Tournament as we move to the Sweet 16. Every remaining team has to be considered part of the nation’s elite. The path to the Final Four is laid out for everyone.

    However, the season has been long, and every team has suffered significant attrition. Let’s check every team’s injury report for the Sweet 16.

    Texas vs. Purdue Injury Report

    Texas

    Player Status Injury Notes
    Jordan Pope Probable Ankle Hurt his ankle late against Gonzaga. Both the player and coach Sean Miller expressed confidence in his ability to play against Purdue
    Dailyn Swain Active Ankle/Leg Took a hard fall against Gonzaga, but didn’t miss action, although he looked limited in the game. Expected to be available.
    Lassina Traore Out Knee Ruled out for the remainder of the tournament.
    Chendall Weaver Active Hip Looked limited since returning in March.

     

    Purdue

    Player Status Injury Notes
    C.J. Cox Questionable Knee He hyperextended his right knee early in the second half against Miami. The team is waiting to see how he responds to treatment.
    Trey Kaufman-Renn Probable Shoulder Suffered a shoulder injury during the Big Ten Tournament. Nonetheless, he has been able to play through it in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament.
    Braden Smith Active Left Knee Smith suffered a left knee injury in early January against USC, but has been able to play through it.

    Nebraska vs. Iowa

    Player Status Injury Notes
    Connor Essegian Out Ankle The senior guard was ruled out for the remainder of the season in November.
    Ugnius Jarusevicius Out Undisclosed back issue In January, the Cornhuskers coaching staff decided to shut him out for the season so he could get a medical redshirt and return next season.
    Berke Büyüktuncel Active General Suffered an ankle sprain in February against Ohio State. Returned somewhat limited and missed key games in February and March. Expected to play.

     

    Iowa

    Player Status Injury Notes
    Bennett Stirtz Active General Played 40 minutes against Clemson and Florida, so the coaching staff is keeping an eye on his overall load.
    Peyton McCollum Out Foot Ruled out for the remainder of the season in January.

     

    Arizona vs. Arkansas

    Player Status Injury Notes
    Koa Peat Active General Peat suffered a lower leg muscle strain in mid-February 2026, which made him lose three games. He has been limited ever since, but he’s expected to play.
    Jaden Bradley Active Wrist Bradley suffered a sprained left index finger and wrist against Houston in the Big 12 Tournament final. However, X-Rays were negative, and he has been able to play normally.
    Bryce James Out Redshirt As expected, he is redshirting the 2025-26 season and is not on the active tournament roster.

     

    Arkansas

    Player Status Injury Notes
    Nick Pringle Questionable Undisclosed Hasn’t been on the court since the SEC Tournament final against Vanderbilt. He was seen with a sleeve on his right leg during open practice. Coach Calipari noted his status is “close” for Thursday.
    Karter Knox Doubtful Knee Had meniscus surgery on Feb 18. He’s officially listed as doubtful.
    Darius Acuff Jr. Active Ankle Has been carrying an ankle injury since late February, which forced him to miss the regular-season finale. However, he has been able to play through the SEC and NCAA tournaments.

     

    Houston vs. Illinois

    Player Status Injury Notes
    Kordel Jefferson Out Knee Underwent left knee surgery in January. He is officially out for the season and is expected to take a medical redshirt. He only played three times this season.
    Bryce Jackson Out Redshirt The freshman is redshirting this season and is not on the active tournament roster. He also suffered a Grade-2 low right ankle sprain in February.

    Illinois

    Player Status Injury Notes
    Keaton Wagler Active General Suffered a stinging left shoulder injury following a fall against UCLA in February. However, he was able to return in the same game.
    Jason Jakstys Out Shoulder/Medical Has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a blood clot in his shoulder.
    Ty Rodgers Out Knee Suffered a partially torn patellar tendon in his left knee in a preseason pickup game, and he is out indefinitely.

     

    Duke vs. St. John’s

    Caleb Foster Out Foot Fractured his right foot in the regular-season finale vs. UNC. He isn’t expected to return until the Final Four, if at all.
    Patrick Ngongba II Active Foot Returned to the lineup in the second-round win over TCU after missing five games with a foot injury.
    Ifeanyi Ufochukwu Out Undisclosed Out since suffering a season-ending non-contact knee injury in a December practice.
    Sebastian Wilkins Out Redshirt Redshirting the 2025-26 season.

     

    St John’s

    Casper Pohto Out Hip Ruled out for the remainder of the season in December with a hip injury.
    Imran Suljanovic Out Knee Freshman forward is out for the season following a dislocated patella in preseason.

     

    Michigan vs. Alabama

    Yaxel Lendeborg Active Ankle Suffered a minor low-ankle sprain in the 2026 Big Ten Tournament final against Purdue. However, he has played both NCAA Tournament games so far.
    L.J. Cason Out Knee (ACL) Tore his ACL in late February, which ended his season prematurely.
    Winters Grady Out Lower Leg Has been out since early January; he will likely be seeking a medical redshirt for the season. Has been carrying a long-term foot injury that hasn’t fully healed.
    Charlie May Active Undisclosed Underwent surgery on his thumb in December and missed the remainder of the regular season. He has been back, though in a limited fashion, in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament.

    Alabama

    Player Status Reason Notes
    Aden Holloway Out Suspension Suspended following his arrest on charges of possession of drugs on March 17. Out indefinitely
    Collins Onyejiaka Out Undisclosed Out for the season with an undisclosed medical condition.
    Keitenn Bristow Doubtful Undisclosed leg injury Has been out indefinitely since February. Last May, it was expected that this was the end of the season for him. He’s unlikely to be part of the active rotation in the NCAA Tournament.
    Davion Hannah Questionable Undisclosed medical issue Hasn’t played since December and isn’t expected to recover for the rest of the season.
    Labaron Philon Jr. Active Thigh Dealt with a severe bruise late in the season. Regardless, he has been able to play in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament.

    UConn vs. Michigan State

    Silas Demary Jr. Questionable Ankle He’s battling a Grade 2 high ankle sprain/calf-Achilles injury. Demary Jr. was unavailable in the first round of the NCAA Tournament but played 22 minutes in the second.
    Jaylin Stewart Questionable Knee Stewart missed his seventh game in a row with knee inflammation when the UConn Huskies took on the UCLA Bruins in the second round.
    Tarris Reed Jr. Active General Received treatment for an apparent nose injury during the NCAA Tournament second-round game against UCLA. The issue was temporary.

     

    Michigan State

    Divine Ugochukwu Out Foot Won’t play due to a foot injury that took him out for the remainder of the season in February.
    Kaleb Glenn Out Knee Missed the entirety of the season with a torn patellar tendon in summer workouts.
    Denham Wojcik Questionable Shoulder Dealing with a lingering shoulder issue. He is expected to play despite the injury.
