On Saturday, Anthony Leal and the Indiana Hoosiers narrowly lost to the No. 24 Michigan Wolverines. With the 70-67 defeat, the Hoosiers fell to 14-10, hurting their chances of qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. The game itself was close but was made even tighter thanks to an impressive buzzer-beater by Leal at the end of the game.

Hoops Fans React to Anthony Leal’s Buzzer-Beater
Although it did not impact the game’s outcome, one of the game’s most viral moments came from a buzzer-beater at the end of the second half. With the clock expiring, Anthony Leal put up a shot from behind half-court, and it went in. This cut Michigan’s lead to three, but the game ended there.
After the shot went in, it was posted all over social media. ESPN’s Instagram account posted the clip, and fans reacted. As one fan points out, the shot should not have counted because Leal carried the ball.
“He only took a million steps,” one fan wrote.
“Look at the guys in the back after the shot.. they had their team not covering,” one fan joked.
“I guess in today’s game, that’s no longer a travel,” one fan added.
Fans continued to sound off in the comments on Instagram.
“I moved the line I apologize. I made a hefty wager on Michigan -2.5 and moved the line. I have the slip lmaooo watched it move right after I bet,” one fan bragged.
“Dude in the gray was thinking, ‘this is why I never bet’ and his bet covers last second. his homie to the right knew it too lol,” one fan commented.
“Literally the opposite of point shaving. If you bet on his team, they covered. I say good for him,” one fan added.
This buzzer-beater was a consolation for the Hoosiers, but they will not be happy with another loss. After starting the season strong, winning 13 of their first 16 games, the Hoosiers have been in a tailspin.

Since their 13th victory, the Hoosiers have only won one of their last eight games. That win was not even a convincing one, as it took overtime to defeat Ohio State 77-76. Indiana has now lost five straight games.
With two of their next three games against top-10-ranked opponents, the Hoosiers do not look like they will get out of their slump anytime soon. They are back in action on Tuesday against No. 9 Michigan State.
