Sophomore center Flory Bidunga spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career with the Kansas Jayhawks. However, after the 2025-26 season ended, the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year decided to enter the transfer portal.
On Wednesday, analyst Jeff Goodman provided an update on Bidunga’s transfer situation. According to Goodman, Bidunga will make an official visit to Louisville along with Oregon transfer Jackson Shelstad.
“Kansas transfer Flory Bidunga and Oregon transfer Jackson Shelstad are taking an official visit together to Louisville on Friday, source told @TheFieldof68,” Goodman tweeted.
This update garnered a wide range of reactions from fans on social media, especially highlighting the modern NIL era.

The Jayhawks have been coached by Bill Self since 2003. He has led the team to two national championships while boasting a 634-167 overall record. On the other hand, Pat Kelsey took over as the coach of the Louisville Cardinals in 2024. They made March Madness for the second consecutive season this year, but were eliminated in the Round of 32 by Michigan State.
In two seasons with the Kansas Jayhawks, Flory Bidunga averaged 9.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game.
Flory Bidunga projected to land with Texas Tech
According to 247Sports, Flory Bidunga might stay in the Big 12 and end up with Kansas’ conference rivals, the Texas Tech Red Raiders. They joined the conference during the 2023-24 season and have emerged as a serious competitor for the Big 12 title over the years.
Just like Bill Self in Kansas, Texas Tech has been under the guidance of long-term coach Grant McCasland. They qualified for March Madness this year, but lost to Alabama in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Bidguna remains one of the most coveted players in the transfer portal. It will be interesting to see which team ropes him in.
