Duke’s Jon Scheyer on Caleb Foster’s Prognosis
Fans were disheartened when Caleb Foster suffered what looked like a season-ending injury in Duke’s season finale against North Carolina.
In a recent pre-ACC Tournament press conference, Jon Scheyer spoke about the player’s situation and gave the fandom a sliver of hope that they haven’t seen the last of the sophomore this season:
“In his mind and our mind, we’ll do everything we possibly can with our mindset to continue to advance where we can give him a shot to come back when it’s all said and done. I think the reality of it is, we’d have to advance to a Final Four. Is there a chance earlier? I’m not going to eliminate that right now. But I think that’s really difficult to try to even imagine that scenario. We’re not going to have him the next couple of weeks, the next few weeks,” the Blue Devils head coach declared.
Given the expectation that he could be ready for the Final Four, it’s not impossible to see him returning, with the Duke Blue Devils being one of the favorites to go all the way this year.
