Darryn Peterson Makes Massive Claim About Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Comparisons

Darryn Peterson was one of the most hyped players in college basketball. However, he could not make much of an impact at Kansas, as his season was repeatedly halted by hamstring injuries and recurring cramping.

He only played 24 games, but showed flashes of his ability, averaging 20.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

Despite doubts about Peterson, he is still considered one of the top prospects in this year’s NBA draft, with some projecting him to go in the top 3. There have been comparisons between Darry Peterson and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and the Jayhawks star believes there is some truth to it.

Peterson called himself and SGA big guards who use their bodies to score. He even claimed that just like SGA, he too was “unguardable,” and that’s why the comparisons made sense.

Fans react to Darryn Peterson embracing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander comparisons

Fans did agree with the comparisons.

“Yeah the smooth pace and midrange creation is spot on, Darryn got that SGA vibe heavy,” one fan agreed.

“Peterson projects to be a better movement shooter and 3-point shooter than SGA, which makes this even scarier,” another fan claimed.

“Does this mean Peterson will be doing a lot of flopping,” one fan asked sarcastically.

“SGA comparison is actually pretty solid smooth, patient bucket-getters,” one fan commented.

“Gonna flop like him too???” Another said sarcastically.

“AJ is more like SGA, DP is more like Booker,” one fan compared.

Gilgeous-Alexander has developed into one of the best players in the NBA. He led the OKC Thunder to the title last season and has put them in position to repeat as champions. SGA is a four-time All-Star and won the MVP award last season.
