Darius Acuff Jr is one of most exciting prospects of the NBA draft this year. He was among the underrated players in college basketball last year. Playing under coach John Calipari, he became yet another top quality guards.
He is projected to be between 5th to 8th pick in the draft. One of Clippers, Nets, Kings or Hawks are projected to draft him. At 6’2″ (barefoot) and 190 lbs, his most common and natural NBA comparison is Jalen Bronson. Both players possess elite scoring ability and brilliant consistency.
In a recent sit-down with Myron Medcalf, Darius Acuff Jr talked about Jalen Brunson. He revealed that he is truly inspired by Brunson. He admires his effort with the New York Knicks as they close in on a NBA title.
“We feel like we can go out there and play against anybody,” Acuff praised Brunson’s mentality. “I feel like I can hopefully do the same thing one day and it’s definitely inspiring to see,” he continued.
At 6’2″ as well, Brunson has seemingly reopened the pathway for smaller guards in the NBA once again. Acuff has shared how he grew up watching and learning from Allen Iversion. With Jalen Brunson’s success, Acuff feels more confident in his skills ahead of the NBA draft.
