Bryce James Drops 1-Word Reaction As Oregon Land Former 5-Star Arizona Transfer

Four-star transfer Dwayne Aristode has decided to move from the Arizona Wildcats to the Oregon Ducks this offseason. The announcement was made this Thursday night, with the 90th overall player and 15th small forward in the transfer portal moving from Tucson to Eugene.

This is a significant coup for a team that ended the past season with a mediocre 12-20 overall record and finished third-to-last in the Big Ten regular season standings. It’s also a great opportunity for Aristode, who saw significant play time in his freshman year but who is unlikely to get a starting role with the Wildcats anytime soon.

Someone happy to see his teammate move on to new challenges is LeBron James youngest son and Arizona basketball player, who commented the following on Aristode’s announcement:

    “Yuhhhhh”

Bryce James just finished his first season with the Arizona Wildcats, deciding to redshirt in early February just as the conference play was heating up. He didn’t play any games for the Wildcats in the 2025-26 campaign.

For Dwayne Aristode’s part, the Dutch import averaged 3.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game in 35 appearances off the bench for Arizona this past season.

Tommy Lloyd expects Bryce James to be an important contributor to Arizona’s production in the not-so-distant future

Bryce James decision to redshirt in his first season for the Arizona Wildcats might have surprised some fans. Particularly, since the son of the famed LeBron James saw no minutes on the court in 2025-26.

However, Tommy Lloyd and James tried to be pragmatic about the decision, with the Wildcats coach telling the following to the press in early February after the choice was made:

“The redshirting decision was just a long play, to give Bryce the most options in his career as his career unfolds,” Lloyd told the Big 12 Network in early February. “I have real strong belief that Bryce will be a contributor at Arizona in the near future. He’s really shown a lot of progress, not only learning our system but just physically maturing.”

At least it seems that Lloyd is keeping him in mind for the future, and with the coach staying put at Tucson for the foreseeable future, that’s good news for Bryce James’ development. Questions of whether or not he will get to play at the professional level remain impossible to answer, but are not entirely far-fetched.
