Billionaire Magic Johnson Singles Out Top Performers as Alma Mater Michigan State Win vs Indiana

Former LA Lakers legend and five-time NBA champion Magic Johnson was probably watching alma mater, Michigan State’s game against Indiana on Sunday. The Spartans defeated the Hoosiers 77-64 as he singled out performers who made it happen.

The billionaire basketball legend named Jaxon Kohler, Jeremy Fears Jr. and Kur Teng and stated their contribution in the win.

“I watched Michigan State beat Indiana 77-64 today on CBS. My Spartans were led by Jaxon Kohler who had 21 points and 13 rebounds and Jeremy Fears Jr., who had another solid floor game with 21 points and 9 assists. The Spartans also got another spectacular shooting performance from reserve Kur Teng who scored 18 points off the bench!” Johnson wrote on X.

The win comes with just two weeks remaining to Selection Sunday. To go to Bloomington and come out on the winning side was no cake walk but the Spartans held on. Teng shot like Steph Curry from the bench, Jaxon Kohler’s performance was encouraging ahead of the NCAA Tournament and Fears Jr. showed his All-American spell.

Magic Johnson Sends His Shout-Out to Michigan State After Win in Mackey Arena

It’s tough to win against Purdue, as Magic Johnson himself was 2-2 against the historic program. Add to the difficulty of facing them at home in Mackey Arena, Michigan State had its hands full with quite a task.

They defeated the Boilermakers in a narrow 76-74 win. It was the Spartans’ first victory in Mackey Arena since 2014. Carson Cooper finished with 15 points, shooting 6 of 9 from the field. Eight of Jeremy Fears Jr.’s 12 points came after halftime. He shot 5 of 10 from the field with six assists. Kur Teng scored 13 points off the bench.

After the game, Johnson took to X and sent his appreciation to his alma mater for taking the win on the road.

“Huge win on the road for my MSU Spartans beating Purdue 76-74! Cooper had 15 points, Fears Jr. added 12, and Carr had 11. My Spartans got a big contribution from Teng off the bench with 13 points. @MSU_Basketball,” Johnson wrote on X.

The win came before Michigan’s latest win over Indiana as they continue to build a strong case ahead of March Madness.
