Kentucky are busy trying to pick up a major W as they continue their pursuit of Milan Momcilovic, and while the efforts to recruit the Iowa State transfer seem like they’re in their last legs, Mark Pope might have got himself another lifeline.
It’s being reported that Kentucky will host 2027 5-star recruit Ryan Hampton this week as he mulls his options amid a major decision making time for the young man.
It is fair to assume that Kentucky have a lot riding on this official visit, especially when you consider the disappointment the BBN had to endure when it came to 2026 5-star recruit Tyran Stokes teasing a deal with the Wildcats only to end up joining Kansas at the last minute.
It was a major setback at the time for Mark Pope, but things appear to have become better since, and with Ryan Hampton now visiting, perhaps this is the fuel that Kentucky need to push their program forward with the right approach.
What are Ryan Hampton’s Strengths That Kentucky Can Count On?
Kentucky may be far from receiving the go ahead from Ryan Hampton but they would have scouted him all the way through by now.
In the words of Hampton himself, there are plenty of strengths he brings to the table. Speaking recently to the Field of 68, he laid out what he thinks he’s good at.
“Finishing at the rim, transition, and I’m getting my shot shot right, my jump shot. My three-pointer obviously didn’t really fall this weekend, but obviously I’m working on it. So, I think it got a lot better since the recent years. So, I think just keep working on that. I’ll be good for sure. So, yeah. Oh, and my rebounding and I think my playmaking is evolving. Just trying to still try to learn that for sure. But, you know, it’s always something to improve on.”
Kentucky would benefit greatly if he can bring this and then some as the Wildcats plan for the future.
