Deion Sanders is leading a major revamp in Colorado ahead of the 2025 season by stacking up the coaching roster with major names in the sport. One of Coach Prime’s biggest achievements was adding NFL legend and Hall of Fame RB Marshall Faulk to the staff. As the new RB coach in Boulder, he will take care of the running back room.
With Faulk and Warren Sapp, the Colorado Buffaloes now have three Hall of Famers, including Deion, on the squad—something that’s not very common in college. Recently, the former Super Bowl winner opened up about his decision to join forces with Coach Prime.

Marshall Faulk Reveals How Deion Sanders Lured Him To Join Colorado
Having three Hall of Famers as coaches definitely improves the program’s brand value significantly. Unlike SEC and Big Ten schools playing games with loads of NIL money and hefty collectives, Deion Sanders’ recent move could shake up the Big 12’s position on the map.
This week, Marshall Faulk appeared on “The Rich Eisen Show,” where he talked about his ambitions. He mentioned that Prime was quite serious about the opportunity, and he thought making an impact in the lives of young kids served a bigger purpose.

“I’m so excited about this. Deion has influence, you know, and we’ve been having several conversations over this several times—from when he was at Jackson and then moved to Colorado,” Faulk said Thursday.
“At the time, my kids were, you know, a little younger. They don’t need me anymore. They’re grown, you know. And my youngest is driving, and I’m like, ‘Man, I’m just, I’ve been relieved of my Uber duties.'”
Faulk continued, “So…you find things to do. You find ways to be impactful. And you know, the things he was saying to me, it made more sense than the things I had to say. And I was like, ‘Man, this is a great opportunity.’
“We, as in Deion, myself, Warren, and a lot of guys that played and that coach right now—so much the game has given us—so much—and coaches, they poured into us so much.
We got to give that back to these young kids coming up in football to teach them how to get to the next level,” Faulk explained. “But make sure that they go to the next level the right way.”

Faulk’s addition comes at a crucial time when Deion Sanders looks to go for a College Football Playoff berth. With such high-profile coaches with this much experience winning big games, a College Football Playoff appearance shouldn’t be a far-gone prediction.
