What an interesting schedule it is for the Tigers. Formerly games that were scheduled as non-conference games against Pac-12 opponents are now highly-anticipated SEC vs. Big Ten showdowns as LSU plays both Los Angeles-based teams: USC and UCLA.
LSU and USC kick off the opening weekend of college football on the Sunday of Labor Day from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, while the Bruins come to Tiger Stadium after a potential bye week for LSU.
These matchups should be highly contested and feature some of the most marquee coaching staffs across the country. And no, Brian Kelly and Chip Kelly are not brothers.
The Tigers will play one of the newcomers to the SEC when they welcome Oklahoma to Tiger Stadium in a conference game. LSU leads the all-time series against Oklahoma, 2-1, having most recently defeated Oklahoma in the 2019 College Football Playoffs.

Two times the Sooners have played the Tigers in the state of Louisiana, but this matchup will be Oklahoma’s first trip to Baton Rouge as the previous two contests took place in New Orleans.
The rest of the schedule is a fun ride for Tigers fans. They go to Gainesville in what is arguably one of the more underrated rivalries in the sport. LSU welcomes Alabama and Ole Miss but has four road SEC games, each that look winnable on paper with how well the 2023 team has fared.
For the first time since 1991, the SEC will not feature divisions in the conference. The top two teams will square off at the end of the year in the SEC Championship Game to culminate the season. With Oklahoma and Texas in the conference this season, the 2024 campaign truly means more.
