Just weeks after committing to Cal, Mission Viejo (California) standout Amaziah Siale has flipped his commitment to LSU, giving Kiffin and the Tigers their first offensive line commitment in the 2027 recruiting class.
Siale’s recruitment took off after he committed to Cal earlier this month. During a scheduled recruiting tour, he earned offers from several powerhouse programs, including Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, and LSU.
Interestingly, LSU was not originally part of the plan.
According to Siale, a change in travel plans led him to Baton Rouge, where he developed strong relationships with the Tigers’ coaching staff.
“We were supposed to leave Houston and go to Miami, Ms Edris at Giant Skills, she runs everything and handles the scheduling. We saw Coach O (Ed Orgeron) got hired at LSU and changed the entire trip around,” Siale said.
“Coach Chris (Talamaivao, founder of GSA) and Ms Edris, they love coach O. He recruited coach Chris’ son Viane when he was at USC so we had to go check out LSU and I’m definitely glad I did because this place is home.” – he added.
After receiving an offer from LSU, he wasted no time setting up an official visit. The trip gave him a deeper look at the program and allowed him to spend time with Kiffin, offensive line coach Eric Wolford, and the rest of the staff.
By the end of the visit, he knew where he wanted to play.
How Did LSU Manage to Land Amaziah Siale
While the Tigers’ rich football tradition certainly played a role, Siale pointed to his connections with the coaching staff as the biggest factor in his decision.
The California native spoke highly of Wolford and Kiffin, emphasizing how quickly the relationships developed despite LSU entering his recruitment late.
“I really connected well with Coach (Eric) Wolford and Coach (Lane) Kiffin. The camp was great and then going back to campus on the official visit, I really felt like I bonded with the entire staff.
I learned so much about what LSU football is all about and what a historic program it is. Like I said before, Coach Wolford is the kind of coach you would run through the wall for. He’s tough but also a players coach. He coaches hard which I like but he’s someone I know I can call on for anything on and off the field.” – he said.
“I’m excited to play for coach Kiffin. He’s a brilliant offensive mind and he’s really put together a great staff that shares his vision. They’re the kind of coaches I can see myself developing under. and I’m very excited to be a Tiger.” – he added.
The talented lineman has since canceled all the remaining visits and made it clear that he is fully committed to LSU moving forward.
With Siale now on board, the Tigers have secured an important building block for their 2027 class and added another recruiting victory to an already impressive offseason.
