NFL analyst Ryan Clark was impressed with what Texas A&M Aggies wide receiver KC Concepcion had to say at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Concepcion initially became a subject of jokes as he struggled with speech while answering questions at the Combine. But when people learned about his stuttering problem, they showed him respect.
Many have since taken to social media to share their own stories of similar problems. Seeing all this, Clark found the wideout inspirational as it takes a lot of courage to face several people when you have a speech impediment. He became a fan of his and called out haters, making fun of him without knowing the full story. Clark wrote:
“Man!! Keep going KC Concepcion. Was inspiring to see you at the combine. Love what you represented, how you spoke, and never shrunk. Any goofy with something to say is just that… GOOFY! Blessings young man and can’t wait to see where you end up. Always a fan!”
Netflix co-founder Marc Rudolph also joined the mass to show respect for KC Concepcion as he shared his personal experience.
“Most people don’t know, but I developed a stutter in middle school. Not terrible,” Rudolph wrote. “But noticeable enough that people noticed, and noticeable enough that I noticed them noticing. I never really “cured” it … I could tell fast who judged me, who didn’t notice, and who underestimated me. So, when I see KC Concepcion step up to a mic at the NFL Combine, knowing exactly how much courage that moment takes—all I feel is respect.”
Everything We Know About KC Concepcion’s Speech Impediment Problem
KC Concepcion has been stuttering since his early childhood days, requiring him to attend speech classes and becoming a subject of interest for bullies. His dad, Kevin Concepcion, who played for Buffalo as a defensive back, had the same speech impediment problem, and KC seems to have inherited it due to heredity. His father is whom he looked upto for inspiration.
“As a little kid, it’s kind of tough having … kids pick on you for your talking,” Concepcion told the AP. “Just seeing him deal with it also it helped me out, you feel me. And it made me feel like I wasn’t the only one.”
As Concepcion grew older, he practiced speeches like it was a sport. His father grew proud of him for not letting the problem affect him or his professional career.
“When I was a kid, I would cry because of my speech impediment,” Concepcion Sr. told Our Esquina. “KC would be around these kids just stuttering, but he embraced it. I never witnessed any of his teammates make fun of him.”
KC Concepcion spent the first two years with NC State, where he caught 124 receptions for 1,299 yards and 16 touchdowns, while adding 356 rushing yards on 60 carries for two touchdowns. He transferred to Texas A&M before the 2025 season and led the Aggies with 919 yards on 61 catches for nine touchdowns.
