Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Julian Lewis had a rocky start to his college career in Boulder. However, he heads into the 2026 season with confidence.
On Friday, Lewis’ manager Justin J. Giangrande posted a photo of the two near the staircase of what appears to be a residence. Both, wearing all-black outfits, were gesturing a victory sign. The location was marked Atlanta. Giangrande added the following caption for Lewis’ 2026 season:
“Elite season loading… About that time Julian Lewis”
Lewis reposted the story on his own Instagram stories:

Lewis, a former five-star recruit, had a mixed but ultimately promising freshman season in 2025 at Colorado. While it was in no way a breakout year, the freshman played in four games, including two starts and finished with 589 passing yards, 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He completed 55.3% of his passes. He also rushed for -35 yards, though sack yardage affects college QB rushing totals.
It’s important to note that he spent most of the season behind veteran QB Kaidon Salter. Due to injuries and Colorado’s struggles, he got some starts at the position. His best performance came against the West Virginia Mountaineers, where the QB threw for 299 yards and 2 touchdowns while completing nearly 63% of his passes in his first collegiate start.
Colorado’s Julian Lewis Has New Weapons for 2026
Julian Lewis is expected to be the starting quarterback for the Buffaloes this fall. He will be helped by newly hired offensive coordinator Brennan Marion, who is known to prioritize getting the ball to playmakers in space and establishing a physical rushing attack. This sits right in the wheelhouse of the former five-star recruit.
But that’s not all.
The Buffaloes have upgraded their wide receiving corps. The most notable additions came via the transfer portal in the form of Danny Scudero and DeAndre Moore Jr. Scudero led the country with 1,247 passing yards. Moore has 11 career touchdowns and reportedly has the trust of the quarterback. Injuries, competition for targets, and inconsistency are some of the concerns with Moore but there is high upside associated with him.
As such, there’s a good chance that the chemistry he shows on the field in sync with Julian Lewis could pretty much decide how well Colorado will do next season.
