Jared Curtis Sets Extended Visits to Oregon, Georgia As No. 1 QB Eyes End of Recruitment
Top-ranked quarterback Jared Curtis, a standout in the 2026 recruiting class, is approaching the conclusion of his recruitment journey. After initially committing to Georgia before reopening his options in October, Curtis has narrowed his choices to Oregon and Georgia.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound quarterback has arranged official visits to both programs: Oregon on June 6 and Georgia on June 13. While Curtis intends to decide after completing both visits, a strong impression from either school could lead him to commit sooner than anticipated.

Jared Curtis Schedules Extended Visits to Top Contenders: Oregon and Georgia
Curtis, widely regarded as the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class, is moving closer to his college decision. After guiding Nashville Christian to a 13-1 record and a Division II-A state title, Curtis earned Gatorade’s Tennessee Football Player of the Year honors.
Initially committed to Georgia on March 23, Curtis reopened his recruitment on Oct. 17, giving Oregon a renewed chance to secure his pledge. Recently, On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported that Curtis is preparing for extended visits with Oregon and Georgia, scheduled for June 6 and 13, respectively.
Curtis’ connection with Oregon has strengthened in recent months.
“I think there are times where Curtis really sees himself playing at Oregon, and they’ve been the leader as of late,” Wiltfong reported.
He highlighted Curtis’ positive rapport with Oregon’s offensive coordinator Will Stein and head coach Dan Lanning, “The connection with offensive coordinator Will Stein and Dan Lanning, the way the Ducks have played over the last three years, and the trajectory of the program are exciting,” Curtis told On3.
Although several programs previously vied for Curtis’ commitment — including South Carolina, Auburn, Alabama, USC, and Ohio State — the race has since narrowed to Oregon and Georgia. Outlining his priorities, Curtis said,
“I will wait until official visits to make my decision. I will get out more… The factors when I make a decision will be the coaching staff, my relationship with the coaching staff, and the class they bring in this year. Those, and the class I would bring in with me, would be the biggest things,” Curtis told On3.
Curtis, who switched from running back to quarterback earlier in his career, quickly excelled in his new role. As a freshman, he threw for over 2,750 yards while leading Nashville Christian to 10 wins, earning Mr. Football runner-up honors.
Across three high school seasons, Curtis has amassed 7,665 passing yards with 92 touchdowns and just 19 interceptions, completing 61.6% of his passes. His versatility as a runner is equally impressive. He totaled 1,663 rushing yards and 38 touchdowns while fumbling only seven times.
