The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets watched as a promising start to the 2024 season fell by the wayside following multiple losses in the middle of their schedule. Without star QB Haynes King in two straight losses, the Jackets received hopeful news in the latest King injury update.
Is Haynes King Playing vs. Miami?
As Week 11 rolled around, King was seen as a game-time decision for Tech’s matchup with Miami at 12:00 p.m. ET. It has been reported that King will warm up with the team and attempt to play through an upper-body injury.
This marks the first time in nearly a month that King will dress for a game and warm up with the team on a game day. King’s news also coincides with the fact that he practiced with the first team for the majority of the week in practice.

Without King, the Yellow Jackets have dropped two straight games, one to Notre Dame and another to ACC foe Virginia Tech.
If King cannot go yet again, it will be Aaron Philo who takes the snaps. A true freshman, if Philo starts, it will be the first start of his career.
What Happened to Haynes King?
King missed the first game of his Georgia Tech career after he was sidelined against North Carolina. He missed the games against Notre Dame and Virginia Tech, and though the program was rather tight-lipped around what happened, it has been stated that it is a right shoulder injury for King, though the list it as just an ‘upper-body’ injury.
He was replaced by Zach Pyron, but due to an injury of his own and ineffectiveness, the program is ready to turn elsewhere.
The nature of the injury is still quite unknown, but what is known is that he left the game in the fourth quarter and it was an injury great enough to keep him out of the lineup for two straight games.
Pyron led the team in rushing against Notre Dame and threw for 269 yards against the Irish but the team limped to an 0-2 record without King as their quarterback.
He’ll officially be listed as a game-time decision for the Yellow Jackets in Week 11, and the decision may not be until just before kick-off.
