TGL’s latest viewership data is out, and the numbers are among the lowest-watched matches so far. Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links GC drew less than 500K viewership in the latest match against Atlanta Drive.
The seventh TGL match took place between Atlanta Drive GC and Jupiter Links GC, where Tiger Woods’ team claimed an 8-6 win. While the match was quite thrilling, the fan numbers weren’t exponentially high.
According to Josh Carpenter of Sports Business Journal, Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links drew a viewership of 483K on ESPN.
Fans online had mixed reactions to the viewership data. Many fans took a dig at Tiger Woods’ tech-infused league for the low numbers.
Here’s a look at some of the reactions:
“with Tiger. ouch,” one fan wrote.
“Good. Get him out. Nothing but a punk,” another fan posted.
“That seems good,” this user remarked.
“Comparing these numbers to Grant Horvat, BDS, Good Good, etc. does seem like TGL could get more views for less money by using YT golfers,” one user opined.
“As ridiculous as LIV if not worst! Why do they think golf needs these sort of things? Just keep the real golf we love authentic, and empower that one, make it more enjoyable, that’s just it!” one fan commented.
“I’m a golf fan and watch weekly events, but haven’t and won’t watch this,” this user wrote.
