Nelly Korda played the LPGA season opener last month with a win at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. However, she will not be seen competing for quite some time from now as she has changed her scheduling strategy for 2026.
Nelly Korda is all set to miss the next three LPGA Tour events, and her next event will be the Fortinet Founders Cup. The event will take place six weeks later, from March 19 to 22, in Menlo Park, California.
Recently, Nelly’s father, Petr Korda, said that he wanted his daughter to play less. The star golfer had also admitted that she was getting to an age where she didn’t want to travel much.
Korda said that 18 to 20 would be her sweet number, and she won’t play more than three in a row.
“I’ve seen my body deteriorate over that and I kind of get into the zone of possibly getting injured. That’s the one thing that I have learned this year or throughout my career is just like, okay, where is my max, right? It’s okay to push it, but you want to kind of be freshest in some periods of the season.
“Like that middle part the season gets compacted with a lot of events and flying, so you really want to make sure you’re giving yourself a break, you’re fresh going into those. I mean, golf is already tough mentally, and then flying cross country, you know, traveling by yourself, sleeping in a different bed, I’m getting to the age where I’m feeling that now,” she said during the PNC Championship 2025.
Earlier, Nelly Korda ended her title drought in the season opener, where she fired a 64 in challenging conditions during the third round. She finished at 13-under after 54 holes and claimed a three-shot win over Amy Yang in the shortened event.
How did Nelly Korda perform in 2025?
