With The Players Championship in the books, the PGA Tour is now headed to the Tampa Bay area for the Valspar Championship. The last Florida event on Tour this season is set to tee off on Thursday, March 19 at the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort in Palm Harbor.
The non-signature event will feature seven of the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) top 20 players. Defending champion Viktor Hovland and 2025 runner-up Justin Thomas are among the top-rated players. World No.7 Xander Schauffele is the best rated golfer teeing up this weekend. Notably, last week’s Players Championship runner-up Matt Fitzpatrick is set to compete at the final Florida Swing event as his rival and TPC Sawgrass event winner Cameron Young sits this one out.
As for the latest updates, ex-LIV Golfer and Returning Member Program returnee Brooks Koepka’s entry extends the PGA Tour event field from133 to 135 players. Seamus Power and Matt Kuchar were added to round out threesomes as Henrik Norlander entered the event via sponsor exemption. It is pertinent to note that Doug Ghim, Andrew Putnam, Justin Lower and Kris Ventura was also added to the field.
Where Is the Valspar Championship 2026 Being Played? Venue Explored
The additions came over the last two days as the likes of Keith Mitchell, Robert MacIntyre, William Mouw and The Players’ breakout star Sudarshan Yellamaraju pulled out of the upcoming contest. Other names contest for the $1,638,000 winner’s paycheck from a $9.1 million purse includes the likes of Wyndham Clark, J.J. Spaun, Keegan Bradley, Brian Campbell and Max Homa, among others.
