The field for the Texas Children’s Houston Open has undergone a change once again. The competition is all set to start on Thursday, the 26th, and since last Sunday, 8 golfers have already withdrawn from the event. The biggest one was when Scottie Scheffler took his name back from the event. Recently, the 9th official withdrawal from the tournament has been announced, as Aaron Rai has also taken his name back shortly before Round 1 was scheduled to begin.

The PGA Tour X page revealed that Rai has a potential neck injury and has decided not to participate in the 2026 Texas Children’s Houston Open. Taylor Moore will stand in for Rai and will play in the same tee group as the English player was originally supposed to. The X-post read:

“Aaron Rai WD with a neck injury prior to the first round of the Texas Children’s Houston Open; Taylor Moore IN.”

Talking more about the 8 withdrawals which have occurred at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, here is a look at them as well,

    • Austin Smotherman (WD), Danny Willett (IN)
    • Cam Davis (WD), Jimmy Stanger (IN)
    • Ryo Hisatsune (WD), Paul Waring (IN)
    • Michael Kim (WD), Jesper Svensson (IN)
    • Matt McCarty (WD), Doug Ghim (IN)
    • Scottie Scheffler (WD), Matt Kuchar (IN)
    • Bud Cauley (WD), Seamus Power (IN)

The revised field has increased the interest in the tournament hosted at the Memorial Golf Course, as the event can be unpredictable. The Memorial requires precision rather than power, which makes the fairways more difficult for golfers.
