Lexi Thompson gave fans a small glimpse into her offseason on January 15, sharing a mirror selfie as she prepares for the 2026 LPGA Tour season.

On the course, Thompson is coming off a steady season. Even with a limited schedule of 13 starts, she qualified for the elite 60-player field. Her best results included a second-place finish at the Dow Championship alongside Megan Khang and a fourth-place showing at the Meijer LPGA Classic. She also posted two top-15 finishes in majors, tying for 12th at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and 14th at the Chevron Championship.
In May 2024, Thompson said she would no longer play a full-time schedule. She turned pro at 15 and went on to build a long career that includes a major title, 15 professional wins, and several close calls.
Her life away from golf has also changed. Thompson got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Max Provost, in January 2025, and the couple is set to get married in March.
As she looks ahead, Thompson plans to keep a lighter LPGA schedule while focusing more on balance. She has said she still wants to stay involved in golf, but without the same week-to-week grind.

Lexi Thompson reacts to the launch of the new WTGL

Lexi Thompson was also present for the unveiling of the WTGL, a new women’s indoor simulator league announced by the LPGA and TMRW Sports. The league is expected to launch in the winter of 2026–27.
Speaking about the project, Thompson said she believes it could play an important role in growing the women’s game.
“I think it’ll have a huge impact, but I think it’s very exciting. You know, the women’s game is moving in the right direction, but to see the women involved at such an early stage of TGL, I think it’s going to do nothing but great things,” she said. (via PGA Tour)
Thompson also tried out the simulator format during the event and admitted it took some getting used to.
“It was interesting. I played it a few times just to get the hang of it,” she said. “With the pin on the left, you have to hit it on the right, and I’m just trying to hit it straight. So it was a fun time for sure.”
When asked if she plans to be part of WTGL in the future, Thompson said she has not made any decisions yet.
“I don’t know. I’ll have to wait and see.”
TMRW Sports CEO Mike McCarley has said that while the main focus is on building WTGL, there is also interest in future crossover events that could feature both LPGA and PGA Tour players. With the LPGA aiming to connect with a younger and more diverse audience, the new league is seen as another way to expand the game’s reach.
