Jon Rahm To Remain LIV Golf Loyal Despite PGA Tour’s New Return Pathway: Reports

Amid Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour, another big name, Jon Rahm, has reportedly refused to leave LIV Golf. The former World No. 1 has confirmed he will remain on the Saudi-backed circuit and will not take the PGA Tour’s new return pathway.

On Monday, January 12, the PGA Tour officially announced it was welcoming Brooks Koepka back after he applied for reinstatement a few days earlier. However, the new return pathway included conditions, including financial sanctions.

While Koepka will make his PGA Tour return soon, Jon Rahm is not looking to join him. The offer was also made to him, but the Spaniard has reportedly turned it down. As per Ten Golf, the two-time major champion will continue on the Saudi-backed circuit and will tee off in Riyadh next month.

Earlier, PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp released an open letter announcing the inclusion of Brooks Koepka in an official statement. Rolapp spoke about creating the best version of the PGA Tour and introduced a special alternative pathway program for LIV players.

Under the program, players who won The Players Championship or a major between 2022 and 2025 were eligible for special consideration. This means Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Cameron Smith could also choose to return.

Under this program, Koepka agreed to a five-year forfeiture of eligibility in the Player Equity Program, which could potentially cost him $50-85 million. He was also required to make a $5 million charitable contribution.
