Anthony Kim’s comeback story has finally been completed at the 2026 LIV Golf Adelaide. Kim returned to the game for LIV Golf in 2022 after a 12-year hiatus from the golfing world. Following that, he was relegated from the tour after the 2025 season due to uneven performance. The relegation drove Kim to improve his game, firstly reclaim his position in the LIV Golf, join a team, and now win his first tournament in 16 years.
Even Majestics GC co-captain Ian Poulter recently discussed this win on his X account, describing Anthony Kim’s story as nothing short of a movie. Kim’s final round of 9 under par secured his victory by a three-shot margin over Jon Rahm; Poulter also mentioned this round in his post, noting it was unbelievable. The 50-year-old golfer also extended respect for the LIV Golf Adelaide champion.

Anthony Kim returned to LIV Golf as one of the wild-card golfers who will compete as a solo player in each tournament. Interestingly, since Patrick Reed left the circuit, 4 Aces GC had a vacancy, which Kim filled with a season-long contract with the team. As a result, Kim’s stunning success in Adelaide will also benefit Dustin Johnson and his squad. Winning a tournament was also emotional for Kim, as he talked about it after the event.
Anthony Kim stated he proved to his daughter that he is not a “loser”
Upon his return, Anthony Kim made it clear to fans that he is returning solely to serve as a role model for his daughter. Kim claims that his daughter has always encouraged him to fight back in his life. Recently, he talked about her daugther again, following his LIV Golf Adelaide victory, adding that his daughter, Bella, has now seen him win something significant in life.
Kim mentioned how he was able to give Bella a moment to run on the green after the event, knowing that his father had won. According to The Mirror, the golfer made an emotional comment, saying,
“Best moment of my life so far. Obviously, when Bella was born, Emily and my life changed. But to be able to share this moment, even though Bella won’t understand it, one day she will, and for her to be able to run on the green and see her dad isn’t a loser was one of the most special moments of my life.”
Anthony Kim’s next tournament will be the LIV Golf Hong Kong, hosted by the Hong Kong Golf Club begining from March 5.
