Bryson DeChambeau’s LIV Golf contract was set to run out in 2026 and the golfer was reportedly delaying the renewal. The alleged delay in the process had sparked rumors regarding the two-time US Open champion’s possible exit from the Saudi-backed series. However, the ace golfer has now confirmed his decision to continue on LIV Golf.
For the unversed, DeChambeau moved to the breakaway tour in 2022 for a reported $120m deal and eventually became one of the biggest names on the tour. However, the 32-year-old’s recent comments suggesting the league “has got to improve” cast doubt on his future. The golfer on Thursday shut down speculations by confirming his committed to the 2026 season.
The pro golfer-turned-YouTuber also revealed that his Crushers GC franchise will remain unchanged. It is pertinent to note that Charles Howell III, Paul Casey and Anirban Lahiri return for the fifth consecutive season, making it one of the few teams to make no changes to the roster.
Bryson DeChambeau said, as quoted by Flushing It:
“Keeping this core (Crushers GC team) together for 2026 positions us to build on the momentum we carried out of 2025. This group knows what it takes to win; we lifted the trophy in 2023 and finished second last season, and that experience fuels our drive to compete at the top week in and week out.
We’re a team of competitors, creators, and leaders who take pride in pushing the game forward, and having this group return gives us continuity, confidence, and a clear direction as we raise our standards heading into next season.”
Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC will be eyeing to become the LIV Golf League’s first franchise to win two Team Championships.
Bryson DeChambeau is not following Brooks Koepka out
For the unversed, Brooks Koepka recently made headlines by exiting LIV Golf. According to reports, the golfer is set to serve a one-year ban before making his second debut on the PGA Tour. Interestingly, rumors linking Bryson DeChambeau to follow Koepka’s move surfaced after the golfer made some speculative comments about his future.
Notably, DeChambeau admitted being hopeful about playing on LIV Golf past 2026 while speaking to reporters ahead of the Ryder Cup. However, the ace golfer made some non-committal comments in a recent interview with Flushing It. Sharing insights on his contact situation, the 32-year-old stated that both his camp and the circuit leadership were yet to agree on a common ground.
Bryson DeChambeau said in December:
“We have to get to a place where both parties have a good understanding of one another. It is getting to a place that makes sense for both sides… You never know. Life throws curveballs and, obviously, we saw (Brooks Koepka exiting LIV Golf) and that was quite a shock to a lot of people and something that, you know, it is what it is.”
DeChambeau further suggested the LIV Golf make ‘improvements,’ which further added spark to the rumors surrounding his exit. However, the golfer has now confirmed his decision to stay on the tour.
