Bryson DeChambeau is surely one of the, if not the biggest, faces of the LIV Golf circuit. The golfer has garnered a lot of respect from fans to the point that wherever LIV goes around the world, there are enormous DeChambeau fans. A reporter talked about this during the LIV Golf South Africa post-round press conference, and the golfer responded in a pretty straightforward manner.
The two-time major winner revealed that while he aspired to be one of the greatest golfers during his university years, he never imagined receiving such overwhelming love from fans. Bryson DeChambeau went on to thank all of his fans, friends, and especially his family for their unwavering support, claiming that he would not have been able to accomplish these feats without them.
According to an X post by LIV Golf, DeChambeau stated,
“There’s no question, I mean, I thought I could have been one of the best in the game at the time. I could have gotten there, but seeing this much support, this much love, this much care, this much curiosity, and this much love is just beyond my wildest dreams. And I can’t thank the game of golf and everybody in the game for supporting me through thick and thin. And even when I was at my worst, there were still people that supported me, and people, quite frankly, did not like me at all.”
DeChambeau has already won his first tournament of the season, the LIV Golf Singapore, defeating Richard T. Lee in a dramatic playoff to claim the trophy. Walking into the Club at Steyn City, he remains the favourite to win, and after the first day, he is tied for the lead with a total score of 8 under par.
Bryson DeChambeau inspires the youth at LIV Golf South Africa

Following his deep and emotional story of how he rose to popularity, Bryson DeChambeau went on to praise the young golfers out there. He said that if young people are true to themselves in everything they do, they can accomplish anything in life.
In the same X post, DeChambeau went on to say
“Don’t try to be anybody else than yourself. And I think that’s a good message to youngsters out there and to anybody watching, is like, the more that you are yourself, you will find your place in the world. You’ll find where you’re supposed to be in the world. And maybe it’s not being the most famous person, or maybe it’s doing some other job, but they’re all important. And the more you can be true to yourself, the better, I think, you’ll be in life as a human. And that really resonated with me back in 2022.”
After his outstanding effort, Bryson DeChambeau has helped his team, Crushers GC, climb to third position on the team leaderboard, just two shots behind current leaders Southern Guards GC.
