    Rory McIlroy ended his decade long major championship drought last year with the Masters win. The Northern Irishman won at Augusta National for the first time in 17 years to complete his much-anticipated career Grand Slam. The green jacket winner is now set to host the traditional Champions Dinner for fellow winners ahead of his title defence.

    For the unversed, the Champions Dinner is set to be held at the iconic Masters Club on April 7, 2026. The Masters on Wednesday revealed the official menu for the 36-year-old’s dinner and it is almost as dramatic as the back nine he played to win the contest last year. The dinner features 12 items on the menu from appetizers to dessert, added with four labels from Augusta National’s fabled wine cellar.

    The appetizers options start with a local option – crispy Vidalia onion rings that come from a 20-county region in south-eastern Georgia. Georgia peach and ricotta flatbread are also involved in the menu. The main course has a choice of wagyu filet mignon or seared salmon, alongside sauteed Brussel sprouts, glazed carrots with brown butter.

    It is pertinent to note that staff from Augusta National reportedly flew to the player’s opted restaurant in New York, Le Bernardin, to meet with the chef to prepare the options based on his liking. Notably, the cost of the food menu, which ends with sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream and warm toffee sauce, is not revealed. However, champagne and wine selections at the dinner range from $530 – $2,371. This includes a 1989 (his birth year) Château d’Yquem from Sauternes in Bordeaux,

    For the unversed, the defending champion hosted Masters Club dinner, also known as the Champions Dinner, is a tradition dating back to 1952. Two-time Masters winner Ben Hogan started the tradition to hold a dinner for all past Masters champions on the Tuesday evening of the event week. Interestingly, Augusta club chair, Fred Ridley, is an honorary member.
