WATCH: Brooks Koepka Spotted at Farmers Insurance Open Range As He Gears Up for PGA Tour Return
Brooks Koepka spotted at Farmers Insurance Open range as he gears up for PGA Tour return

Brooks Koepka was seen at Torrey Pines ahead of his return to the PGA Tour at this week’s Farmers Insurance Open.

The five time major champion is set to make his first Tour start since leaving LIV Golf last month. Koepka officially rejoined the PGA Tour in January through the new Returning Member Program and had already confirmed the Farmers as his comeback event.

Golf page NUCLR Golf shared a short clip on Tuesday, January 27 showing Koepka arriving at the range in San Diego to begin his preparations.

Koepka has had mixed results at the Farmers in the past. He has made the cut just once in four starts back in 2015. Still he knows Torrey Pines well having finished inside the top four at the 2021 U.S. Open played at the same course.

This year’s event features a strong 147 player field. Koepka will be joined by big names like Xander Schauffele, Justin Rose, Hideki Matsuyama, Keegan Bradley, J.J. Spaun and Ludvig Åberg. Ten of the world’s top 20 ranked players and 10 major champions are set to compete.

Fans can watch the opening two rounds on ESPN from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET. The coverage will also be available on Disney+ and Hulu on Thursday and Friday.

Brooks Koepka’s return leads to field adjustments at Torrey Pines

With Brooks Koepka back in the field this week the PGA Tour made a few adjustments to the Farmers Insurance Open lineup. To keep groups balanced the Tour added two alternates taking the total number of players to 147.
Matt Kuchar and Justin Lower were the first to move into the field. Taylor Moore and Joel Dahmen now sit next on the alternate list in case anyone pulls out before Monday’s deadline.
Koepka will not be able to use sponsor invites to enter the Tour’s Signature Events. Instead he will need to qualify through strong finishes, the Aon Swing 5, the Aon Next 10 or by moving inside the top 30 of the world rankings.
He is also set to play next week at the WM Phoenix Open giving him back to back starts as he works his way into the bigger events later in the season
