Brooks Koepka re-applies for PGA Tour membership just days after LIV exit: Reports

Brooks Koepka has reportedly applied for PGA Tour membership on Friday, January 9. The move comes after the five-time major champion left LIV Golf last month.

Brooks Koepka is a nine-time winner on the PGA Tour and has won five majors so far. However, he left the Tour for LIV Golf in 2022 to become one of the biggest signings by the Saudi-backed circuit. Last month, he announced his exit from the league due to family reasons.

As per reports, Koepka has applied for reinstatement of his PGA Tour membership, but more details are yet to come. So far, neither party has commented on the reports, and things will be clarified in the upcoming days. According to ESPN sources, the PGA Tour will start its disciplinary process after receiving Koepka’s application.

The 35-year-old star last played on the PGA Tour in 2022, where he tied for 12th at the Valspar Championship. He has won four titles outside his major victories, with the WM Phoenix Open in 2021 being his last non-major win on the Tour. Notably, he won his fifth major after joining LIV Golf two years later, becoming the first LIV golfer to win a major by claiming the PGA Championship in 2023.

Is Brooks Koepka playing at the Sony Open in Hawaii?

The PGA Tour is set to kick off the 2026 season next week with the Sony Open in Hawaii, but Brooks Koepka will not be in the field. The ace golfer is currently not eligible for PGA Tour starts as he must complete a one-year cooling period, which will end in August. However, it will be interesting to see if the Tour makes changes for the star golfer in the coming weeks.

As of now, Koepka is eligible for all four majors, as he has a five-year exemption in all four majors until 2028.

Koepka had a disastrous major season last year as he missed the cut in three of the four events. This has affected his rankings as well, as he slipped to a fairly low No. 244 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Here’s a look at Koepka’s performance outside LIV Golf in 2025:
