‘Struggling’ 9x DPWT Winner Makes 302nd Cut After a Rough Patch
After a difficult start to the season, nine-time DP World Tour winner Pablo Larrazábal finally had something to smile about at the Qatar Masters.
The Spaniard made his 302nd career cut on the DP World Tour, ending a rough patch that saw him miss the cut in both Dubai and Bahrain. While he is not near the top of the leaderboard, simply making it through to the weekend marked an important step forward.
Larrazábal currently sits tied for 53rd at Doha Golf Club after two rounds of 71.
Speaking after his second round, he admitted it has been a tough few weeks.
“I’ve been struggling in the first three tournaments of the season, well of the year. I know my game is there I’ve been working as hard as ever in my life,” he said.
“I’ve been a professional golf player for 22 years, this is my 19th season on Tour and I’ve never worked as hard as now.”
“Missing the cut in Dubai, missing the cut in Bahrain. But my game is there I just have to believe. This was very important for me, for my confidence, obviously for my bank account too. Very happy to play over the weekend.”

Larrazábal’s performance in Qatar was a clear improvement from last week in Bahrain where rounds of 71 and 73 left him finishing at even par and outside the cut line.
This week he opened with two bogeys and three birdies on Thursday to post 71. He repeated the same score on Friday with another mix of three birdies and two bogeys.
With confidence slowly returning, Larrazábal will now look to push higher up the leaderboard over the weekend
