PGA Tour winner Michael Kim compared Scottie Scheffler to 15-time major winner Tiger Woods after the current world No. 1 won the American Express. This week, Scheffler played in a PGA Tour event and registered a four-stroke win in the game.

He was fabulous with his game throughout the week and settled in a tie for second place after three rounds. He carded a round of 66 on Sunday and registered a win in the game.

Following his win, Kim shared a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account to congratulate Scheffler and compared him with Woods. He wrote:

“Maybe not the peak Tiger years like 2000 or 2006. But Scottie is as good as Tiger amongst every other yr…And Scottie isn’t going to change swings drastically throughout his career either. Just gotta avoid cooking from time to time”

It was Scottie Scheffler’s first event of the season. Last season, he won six tournaments and started the new season with a win. It’s also his 20th win on the PGA Tour.

After three rounds, Si Woo Kim was in contention to win the American Express, but he struggled on Sunday and carded a round of 72 and settled in a tie for sixth place at 22 under.

Scottie Scheffler Joins an Elite Club With Tiger Woods After Winning the American Express

Scottie Scheffler became the third golfer in the modern era to win 20-plus PGA Tour events before the age of 30, which also includes four major titles. He joined the elite club of Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.

Golf analyst Justin Ray has shared the stats on his X (formerly Twitter) account with a caption:

“Players to win 20+ times on the PGA Tour including 4 or more majors before age 30 in the modern era Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Scottie Scheffler”

Scheffler talked about his victory in the post-round press conference. He said (via ASAP Sports):

“I had not really thought about that very much. I mean, that’s a pretty cool feat to get to. This week in particular was a nice week. Got off to a good start over there at La Quinta, and then I came over here and kept the momentum going on these two courses.

“Today was a day in which I played pretty nice and did some good things out there. I hit a lot of wedges really close to the hole, gave myself some easy birdies. And then when I was out of position did a good job of getting the ball up-and-down,” he added.

He started his campaign with an opening round of 63 and then carded the next three rounds of 64, 68, and 66.

Jason Day also had a fantastic time playing this week and settled in second place in a tie with Ryan Gerard, Andrew Putnam, and Matt McCarty.
