Blades Brown fired a 12-under 60 in the second round of The American Express 2026 to smash the course record at Nicklaus Tournament Course. The 18-year-old rookie also closely missed a 59, which would have made him the youngest pro to achieve this.
On Friday, January 23, Brown teed off at the Nicklaus Course at 5-under. He began from the tenth tee with a birdie and then made an eagle on the second. He then picked up five straight birdies to shoot 28 on the front nine.
On the back nine, he picked up four more birdies and was looking to catch the magic number of 59. However, his putt on the par-4 ninth deviated a bit and he had to settle for a 12-under 60.
Following the final round, Blades Brown is tied with World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler at 17-under and has a one-stroke lead over Si Woo Kim.
