“Fire Dan Lanning”: Oregon Fans Want HC Gone After 34-Point Beatdown vs Indiana

Until a few hours ago, Dan Lanning was one of the best coaches in college football this season. He took his team to the College Football Playoff semifinal, where they faced the Indiana Hoosiers and had a 13-1 record.

Now, he’s an overrated coach who got lucky on his way to the Peach Bowl and was exposed under Indiana’s fierce offensive attack. The loss against the Hoosiers is going to sting Lanning for a long time.

The Ducks entered the semifinal matchup as one of the best teams this season. They had several blowout wins during the season, their offense and defense were effective, and the coach’s plans were being executed perfectly.

All of that, just to get blown out by the Indiana Hoosiers in a humiliating 22-56 loss. Now, it’s Lanning’s turn to face the wrath of fans, and they’re not holding back their punches.

“Please fire Dan Lanning !” one fan requested Oregon football.

“Dan Lanning is the most overrated coach in the history of CFB, he’s won nothing and constantly gets outcoached in big games, Lanning’s a Fraud,” a fan wrote.

“Dan Lanning and Oregon still the biggest frauds on the planet. Getting their skulls cracked open. 3 guaranteed in life are ducks sh*tting their pants in every big game, death, and taxes,” a fan wrote.

“There’s something so satisfying about watching Dan Lanning lose on the big stage after being the biggest corn ball the sport has seen in quite some time…And to think he could’ve avoided this nationally televised beat down if he was a dentist after all,” a fan wrote.

“Dan Lanning in big games,” Barstool Sports called Lanning trash.

“Dan lanning remains the biggest fraud and cornball in CFB,” a fan wrote.

After defeating the Ducks, the Indiana Hoosiers are now in the CFP final, where they will face the Miami Hurricanes on January 19 for the national title.

Ryan Clark Asked an Uncomfortable Question About Dan Lanning

If we take a look at the Ducks’ run this season, they have had some blowout wins. The problem, however, is that the wins have come against comparatively weaker teams.

They have defeated Wisconsin, Rutgers, Northwestern Wildcats, Oregon State, and others. All those teams have more losses than wins. Tonight could’ve been Lanning’s opportunity to show that he has built his team for the big stage as well.

Unfortunately, it didn’t happen, and the result made Ryan Clark question whether Lanning and his team are even capable of winning big games.

“At some point we have to talk about Dan Lanning getting his doors blown off in these CFP games. Where is the big win?” Clark posted.

Lanning, if he’s not fired by the Ducks, will have to work his way up again next season, and he needs to make sure that his team doesn’t get humiliated like this again in big games against strong teams.
