Michigan defensive back and NFL star DK Metcalf’s cousin, Tevis Metcalf, has entered the NCAA transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining. Metcalf previously played for Michigan in 2025 and Arkansas in 2024.
For Michigan, he played three games, recording three tackles and a forced fumble. He was a three-star recruit in the 2024 class. One’s Pete Nakos and Hayes Fawcett reported the development.
Fans called out Metcalf for searching his third school for this third season.
“Next school is Gonna be 3rd school in 3 years. Maybe he’s the issue,” one fan commented.
“Already knew this was coming when TJ entered,” another fan added.
“I don’t think I saw him on the field more then 1 time,” one fan reacted.
“Isn’t this the brother that sucks? TJ was the better of the two,” another fan added.
“dude got on the field in garbage time and immediately let up a td,” one fan commented.
“No one wants to convert to LDS,” one fan wrote.
“Can’t just stick it out gotta follow big bro,” one fan said.

DK Metcalf’s Brother TJ Also Entered Transfer Portal
Tevis isn’t the only Metcalf that’s entering the transfer portal. His brother, TJ Metcalf, has also put his name in the transfer portal. He was a starting defensive back (nickel/safety) for the Michigan Wolverines. He was a far more significant player for Michigan than Tevis, as he played a team-high 778 defensive snaps. Like Tevis, he was also a three-star recruit from the 2023 class.
TJ played his first two seasons with Arkansas before transferring to Michigan ahead of the 2025 season. He made 58 total tackles (37 solo), 21 assists, four passes defended and one interception. His 2024 stats with Arkansas were even better. He made 56 total tackles (29 solo), 27 assists, seven passes defended, one forced fumble and three interceptions.
TJ Metcalf is the cousin of NFL wide receiver DK Metcalf, currently playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers and previously a star with the Seattle Seahawks. Their uncle (DK’s father) played college football and is in the College Football Hall of Fame.
