The NFL draft is always filled with enticing storylines, most of which revolve around where players are selected.
But one of this draft’s best stories surrounds offensive tackle Armand Membou.
Armand Membou’s Story
The 21-year-old was once described as a “huge success story” by his high school coach, Jamar Mozee.
While playing at Lee’s Summit North High School, Membou did not initially find success playing high school football. He was undersized and lacked motivation. He was not on his head coach’s radar, but he would go on to put in significant work in the coming years to become one of the most dominant offensive linemen in the state of Missouri.
What perhaps helped him improve was the fact that he both wrestled and played tennis, two sports that helped him improve his agility and physicality.
He would go on to accept an offer to play football at Missouri for head coach Eli Drinkwitz.
The son of Cameroonian immigrants, Membou also learned how to speak French as a child growing up. It is fair to say that Membou is one of this year’s most intriguing draft prospects.
Who Could Draft Membou?
The 6-foot-4, 330-pound offensive tackle should have his fair share of suitors in the draft.
An All-Southeastern Conference performer last season, he helped the Missouri offensive line become a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award, which recognizes the best offensive line in the country. He possesses great speed (4.91 40-yard dash) but also has great body control. His hand and footwork are elite, which means that he could play both on the interior of the offensive line and, obviously, on the end of the line where he has made his name.
A first-round prediction makes a lot of sense, given his intangibles and characteristics. The New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh Steelers are three teams that could use some help on the end of their line.

Again, Membou could be better than your average offensive lineman because of his ability to play multiple positions, which could come in handy at the NFL level.
