Paul Finebaum suggests that the Miami Hurricanes will reach new heights and make the College Football Playoff if Carson Beck is the one leading the team as their quarterback in 2025.

Paul Finebaum Is Bullish on Carson Beck and the Miami Hurricanes in 2025
Before heading to Miami, Beck played for the Georgia Bulldogs for five seasons. He came to Miami with one year of eligibility, remaining as a redshirt senior.
Beck is looking to fill the void left by star quarterback Cam Ward in Miami, who is preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Beck is a proven winner and helped Georgia achieve an 11-3 record (6-2 in the SEC) in 2024. He threw for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions and led the team to win the SEC Championship over Texas.
Georgia was ranked as the No. 2 overall seed in the 2024 College Football Playoff before losing to Notre Dame in the second round. Beck is now coming to Miami to aim for the national championship.
After seeing his never-ending determination, Finebaum assumes that he will be the one to lead the Miami team to the playoffs. Finebaum also shared his thoughts, saying he expects Beck to do great leading the Hurricanes. He further stated that Georgia’s quarterback’s leadership was a huge piece in the Bulldogs’ success.

“He had so little to work with, the talent around him was so different than the year before, with Bowers and McConkey, that he just never could adapt, and he just didn’t look happy,” Finebaum said via On3. “Maybe learning to drive a Lamborghini just really overwhelmed him.”
Beck Aims To Lead Miami’s Comeback to Playoff Contention
The Hurricanes’ teamwork was strong in the previous season, as they finished with a 10-3 record (6-2 in the ACC). They finished third in the conference and received a bid to the Pop-Tarts Bowl. However, they lost the popular bowl game to Iowa State 42-41.
The Hurricanes’ success came on the back of quarterback Ward, who had an amazing record-breaking season, throwing for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, and only seven interceptions. Ward is also assumed to be among the top quarterbacks chosen in the 2025 NFL Draft, so Beck has huge shoes to fill.
