Caleb Williams Expected To Break Bears’ 4,000-Yard Drought After 2025 Massive NFL Draft Wins and CFB Glory

The Chicago Bears had a rough ride in 2024. They ended the season with a 5-12 record and finished at the bottom of the NFC North. The struggles ran so deep that they fired head coach Matt Eberflus midseason. But things are already looking different in 2025.

With No. 1 overall draft pick Caleb Williams now in the facility with some big minds coaching him, hope is back in Chicago. Many are also wondering if 2025 could finally be the year the Bears see a quarterback throw for 4,000 yards in a season. No Bears QB has ever reached that milestone, but with the 2024 NFL draft’s best quarterback leading the offense, the chances are very high.

Caleb Williams Gets a Loaded Offense Post-Draft in Quest to Shatter Bears’ 4,000-Yard Drought

Though the Chicago Bears had a tough season last year, that doesn’t mean they cannot overcome those past struggles this time. It is highly possible because they still have the 2024 No. 1 overall pick, Caleb Williams, on the team.

Let’s not forget his incredible Heisman Trophy-winning season, where he threw for 4,075 yards and 37 touchdowns and also rushed for 10 more scores.

However, when Williams began playing for the Bears, he couldn’t quite replicate his college success at the national level. He finished the 2024 season with 3,541 passing yards—close, but still not enough to break the Bears’ long-standing 4,000-yard drought.

But now, things are looking up because the Bears have built a much stronger system around him.

In an Instagram post, ClutchPointsNFL wrote, “They hired Ben Johnson, one of the NFL’s brightest offensive minds, to call the shots. They drafted elite weapons in Colston Loveland and Luther Burden. Add that to a receiver group featuring Rome Odunze and DJ Moore, and this offense suddenly looks loaded.”

It’s a whole new Bears team. The offensive line has been upgraded. The wide receiver room is stacked. The tight end position has real upside. And most importantly, there’s a head coach ready to hand the keys to his franchise quarterback. With all that in place, breaking the 4,000-yard mark doesn’t feel like a dream anymore—it feels possible.

So, is it fair to expect a big jump from Williams in his second season? Nobody knows for sure, but with this new team structure, it’s hard to doubt it. Given Williams’ talent and the improvements around him, reaching the 4,000-yard milestone doesn’t seem like too much to ask.
