Bryce Underwood Takes Playful Jab at LeBron James

While attending a Los Angeles Clippers-Los Angeles Lakers game last week, Underwood and James had a fun interaction. During the interaction, Underwood took a shot at James’s Buckeyes, which he talked about on The Rich Eisen Show.

“Yeah, It’s over for Ohio State,” the star quarterback stated in his interview with Eisen.

Usually, you might want to avoid attacking a legendary athlete such as James, but Underwood had fun with it. Time will tell if Underwood can keep his promise.

Even though Michigan has had Ohio State’s numbers in recent years, the Buckeyes are coming off a national title. It will be interesting to see if Underwood’s arrival can keep the Wolverines on top in this legendary rivalry.

Underwood Brings a New Era to Michigan

While last season was head coach Sherrone Moore’s first year in charge after officially taking over for Jim Harbaugh after Harbaugh left for the Los Angeles Chargers, Moore is still trying to find his way as a head coach.

In 2024, Moore went just 8-5 overall and 5-4 in the Big Ten, which was good for a seventh-place finish. However, he beat Ohio State.

The Wolverines have won each of the last four meetings and currently lead the all-time series with the Buckeyes 62-51-6. Next season’s battle between the two could be the best one yet, as they have each won a national title within the last few years.

The addition of Bryce Underwood should make this rivalry that much more compelling. Underwood is the No. 1 overall ranked high school football player in this year’s recruiting class.

The Detroit native and former Mr. Football in the state of Michigan could be primed for a great college career in Ann Arbor if he stays for his entire career. Time will tell whether he can follow through on some of his trash talk toward LeBron James and beat the Buckeyes a little bit more.
