Royals Players Dominating World Baseball Classic Sparks Bold Reaction From Pitcher John Schreiber

Several Kansas City Royals players are turning heads in the ongoing World Baseball Classic and this has fellow pitcher John Schreiber excited.

Italy’s Vinnie Pasquantino and Jac Caglianone, Team USA’s Bobby Witt Jr., and Venezuela’s Maikel Garcia have generated headlines this tournament. With the WBC in the semifinal stage featuring the United States, Italy, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, there is at least one Royal in each of these rosters.

Schreiber reacted to the ongoing WBC and shared his reaction on seeing his fellow teammates thrive on the international stage.

“I was thinking last night, just looking at some of the highlights over the last week, it’s really exciting to see our guys excel in the WBC,” Schreiber said. “It feels like all the highlights are from guys from the Royals. It makes everybody here excited about what we have in store for the season.

“That’s the buzz that has been going around here, seeing what those guys have been doing over the last two weeks. We’re super proud of them.”

Another fellow Royals pitcher, Michael Wacha, feels promising ahead of the 2026 MLB regular season, given how the teammates are performing.

“It’s been a lot of fun watching our guys go out there and have big games, come through in clutch moments,” Wacha said. “That’s building confidence for them coming into the regular season, finding their swings, finding their pitches, it will only help us out during the regular season.”

There is a lot to be excited about if you are a Royals fan.

How Royals Stars Are Thriving In WBC

No other player has received more attention than Vinnie Pasquantino in the 2026 WBC. The Royals star delivered one of the greatest individual games in WBC history. He hit three home runs in a single game vs Mexico, becoming the first player ever to achieve that feat in the tournament. He helped Italy advance to the knockout stage.

Meanwhile, Team USA and Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. has posted a .455 on-base percentage during the tournament. There was one standout defensive play where he fielded a ball on his knees and threw out the runner.

For Venezuela, Maikel Garcia has hit .421. Another Italian slugger from the Royals, Jac Caglianone, is batting .364 with a 1.290 OPS in the WBC.
