MLB Rumors Explode: Angels to Reward Zach Neto’s Loyalty With Long-Term Deal As Lucas Giolito and Zack Littell Chase Last-Minute Contracts

The Los Angeles Angels could give fans a reason to keep coming to Anaheim Stadium by signing shortstop Zach Neto to a long-term deal. Meanwhile, Lucas Giolito and Zack Littell faces race against time to get signed before Opening Day.

    Let’s check the details.

Angels to Reward Zach Neto’s Loyalty With Long-Term Deal

The Angels are riding a 12-season playoff-less streak. They thought Shohei Ohtani could bring a championship home, but they didn’t surround him well and when the time came to pay up, they couldn’t compete with the Dodgers.

Now another young player deserves their attention and it’s none other than Zach Neto, who inspires a lot of confidence among Angels fans despite back-to-back last-place finishes for the first time in 50 years.

According to LA Times’ Bill Shaikin, the Angels should reward Neto’s loyalty with a long-term deal. When Neto was asked what loyalty means to him, he said:

“The biggest thing with me, the biggest thing my family has taught me, is loyalty,” Neto said. “It’s something I still stick with today. It’s just a matter of being loyal, seeing the growth that we have here. If it happens, it happens. I would love to stay here. I would love to be here. But, if it doesn’t, then not every road is meant to be.

“I am going to be where my feet are every day, and that is here, with the city of Los Angeles and with the Angels, and give it my all every single day.”

It remains to be seen if Neto gets signed to a big extension in the near future.

Lucas Giolito and Zack Littell Chase Last-Minute Contracts

It’s March and most major league rosters must be complete in terms of rotation. However, Lucas Giolito and Zack Littell are free agents and are too good to sign a minor league deal.

They should be inspired after the Kansas City Royals signed Starling Marte last week. Therefore, there is a bright chance that they find their new teams in the coming week.

If not for last-minute contracts, they would have no option remaining but to sign a minor league deal.
