“It’s A Joke” – Super Bowl Champ Furious Over Brewers Snubs In MLB All-Star Game Selection With Only 2 Spots

The Milwaukee Brewers’ All-Star representation has become one of the biggest talking points. Despite holding the second-best record in MLB at 56-33, the Brewers will have just two representatives in the midsummer festivities: Jacob Misiorowski and William Contreras.

The disparity is striking when compared to other division leaders in the National League. The Los Angeles Dodgers, who have the best record in baseball and lead the NL West, have five All-Stars, and the NL East leaders, the Atlanta Braves, also have five. Moreover, the Philadelphia Phillies have five.

This begs the question whether Milwaukee deserved more representation given the Brewers have a better record than the Braves and the Phillies.

Sports radio host and former Super Bowl champion Mark “Chewy” Chmura, who starred for the Green Bay Packers, blasted the voting on ESPN Milwaukee:

“The fact that they have the second best record in baseball and they have two is a joke. It’s a joke.”

Several Brewers are being labeled as deserving snubs from the 2026 All-Star Game, including second baseman Brice Turang, first baseman Jake Bauers, starting pitcher Kyle Harrison and reliever Trevor Megill.

Turang’s omission is the most surprising one. He has posted a .269/.364/.460 slash line with 12 home runs and 51 RBIs this season. He is first among all second basemen in wRC+.

A case can also be made for left fielder Jackson Chourio, but he missed six weeks this season with an injury.

Brewers Ace Might Only Pitch in All-Star Game If Rain Spoils Next Start

The Brewers will be further underrepresented at the All-Star Game if Jacob Misiorowski goes ahead with his scheduled start on Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Misiorowski is scheduled to start the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader. However, such are the circumstances that the right-hander wishes it would rain all day.

“I need it to rain all day,” he told USA TODAY Sports. “Obviously, with weather in the Midwest, you never know.”

Moreover, come Sunday, if Misirowski starts again in Pittsburgh, there is a chance he might not be on the mound of Citizens Bank Park for the All-Star Game. With a 40% forecast of rain that day, the right-hander’s prospects are not that bad.

If Misirowski pitches on the final day of the regular season before the All-Star Game, he will be ineligible to pitch for the National League.

“I would love to pitch in the game,” Misiorowski added. “Especially if I somehow got the start. But, you know, do I think that’s the best for the team? No. But selfishly, sure, I want to throw.”

It remains to be seen if nature prevails and gives Misiorowski a chance to throw in the All-Star Game.
