“Mets Should Not Be Getting Rid Of Francisco Lindor” – MLB Analyst Bluntly Rejects Ex-NFL MVP Boomer Esiason’s Trade Suggestion

Mets star shortstop Francisco Lindor has struggled offensively this season. Unexpected injuries have limited his playing time and raised questions about his future with the team. Rumors of a feud with Juan Soto have further diminished Lindor’s standing as a key figure and a source of hope for Mets fans.

Fans and analysts have begun discussing Lindor’s future in Queens, as former NFL player Boomer Esiason shared his candid take during the latest episode of the Boomer and Gio radio program on WFAN-FM. Esiason suggested the organization pursue a lucrative trade for the struggling Puerto Rican.

“They have to move Francisco Lindor. They have to get rid of him.. I just think it’s enough,” Esiason said.

MLB analyst Marc Luino vehemently objected to Esiason’s suggestion while also directing a scathing remark toward the former Bengals quarterback. Furthermore, Luino added that the organization will under no circumstances seek a trade option for Lindor.

“I really wish people who know 0 about baseball would stop talking about baseball. Mets are not, should not and will not be trading Francisco Lindor,” Luino wrote on X.

New York continues to struggle this season, sitting at the bottom of the NL East with a 38-53 overall record, 15 games short of the .500 mark and 15 games behind the divisional leaders, the Atlanta Braves.

Francisco Lindor Dismissed Any Falling Out With Juan Soto

As baseball fans began speculating about unsaid beef brewing between Lindor and Soto, the 32-year-old shortstop dismissed these rumors and stated that his bond with the Dominican star has naturally grown over the course of two seasons together in Queens.

“The more time we spend together, it’s only natural that our relationship continues to grow. We’ve been teammates for two years now. Time has been on our side. I have nothing but respect for him. He’s my brother. He’s somebody I respected from a distance and respect here, inside,” Lindor told The Athletic.

Despite having one of the highest payrolls this year, the organization desperately needs its stars to perform consistently for the rest of the campaign. However, this may still not be enough to secure a wildcard spot in the postseason.

Fans are calling for change, and owner Steve Cohen faces ongoing scrutiny to hold the front office and players accountable and to justify the team’s disappointing performance.
