Blue Jays Vet Gives Major Reason Why Mike Trout Deserves More Appreciation

Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout has played for only one team so far in his career, that comprises three MVPs, 11 All-Star selections, and nine Silver Sluggers. The Angels drafted Trout 25th overall in 2009 and since then the right-hander has pulled the balls into the stands for the Anaheim franchise.

Trout has remained steadfast in his loyalty to the Angels. Even after not winning the World Series and stars like Shohei Ohtani leaving his side in Anaheim, Trout remains committed to winning the World Series for the Angels.

This type of loyalty is rare in major league sports, especially in MLB. Despite that, Trout doesn’t get enough appreciation for it. However, a former Blue Jays star gave Trout his flowers for sticking with one team all this long.

Blue Jays veteran Kevin Pillar showed appreciation for Trout’s loyalty towards the Angels in his recent appearance on The Foul Territory.

“People could talk about his lack of competitiveness and not wanting to play in a winning organization, but I think he should be applauded for his loyalty,” Pillar said. “I’m an NBA fan, you see it all the time, and the NBA players want to team up so that they can create super teams. Mike, as drafted, developed by Anaheim, has always wanted to be there. He’s always wanted to win there, and unfortunately it hasn’t happened, but I think we should applaud him for his loyalty.”

Mike Trout Made Angels History With Home Run

Unlike the last couple of years, Mike Trout has started the season on a great note. The season became even more special on Wednesday night when the Angels outfielder hit a 428-ft solo home run in the fifth inning.

With this hit, Trout tied Angels legend with the 796th extra-base hit of his career for the most in the franchise history.

This season, Mike Trout is hitting on another level. In 26 games played, the outfielder has already hit eight home runs along with four stolen bases, 18 RBIs and 28 walks. He is tied for fifth in the league’s home run column.

With trade deadline a couple of months away, once again, Trout’s loyalty will be tested as the speculations are always on when it comes to him.
