New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge has been sidelined since early June because of a rib injury. GM Brian Cashman said Judge would undergo reimaging of his ribs during the All-Star break, and the imaging has shown some healing.
Meanwhile, senior MLB analyst Bryan Hoch offered an ominous update, prompting fans to question whether their superstar will return this season. “Aaron Judge said he’s mostly been walking on an incline treadmill. He had been riding a stationary bike, but “I think we’ve kind of shied away from that now,” Hoch wrote on X.
Fans were quick to share their reactions to the latest update on Judge’s rehab on social media.
Senior MLB Analyst Jon Heyman Predicted Aaron Judge’s Return Timeline
Senior MLB insider and baseball analyst Jon Heyman, with the New York Post, shared his honest prediction about Judge’s return timeline this season. On X, Heyman said he predicted the Yankees captain would return around September 1 this season. He also justified his stance by citing a similar situation that transpired in the past.
“Sometime around September 1st is probably a good guess. They (Yankees) wouldn’t make one but that’s my guess… The Aarons, Judge and Boone, wouldn’t venture a guess as to when Judge could be back playing. So, knowing how long a somewhat similar injury took last time, I took a shot. Don’t hold me to it though!” Heyman shared on X.
Judge’s last game was on May 31 in the Yankees’ 13-8 win against the Athletics. Since then, the Yankees have posted an 18-19 record, mainly because of weak offensive output. In that period, New York ranked 22nd in runs scored (157) and 23rd in wRC+ (93).
