Ahmad Hardy Shooting Suspect Arrested After Missouri RB Was Injured at Mississippi Concert

An update has emerged in the Missouri star running back Ahmad Hardy’s shooting case. Authorities have confirmed that one suspect has now been arrested after the gunshot incident during the concert in Mississippi earlier this week.

According to the reports from Laurel Police Department, 20-year-old Rashodrick Harris was taken into custody Thursday night in Paducah, Kentucky. The police used the surveillance footage from a nearby convenience store and witness statements to identify Harris as the shooter.

Hardy was reportedly shot in the upper leg during an outdoor concert at a biker club in Laurel, Mississippi. Police stated that surveillance footage played a major role in identifying Harris as a suspect in the case.

Ahmad Hardy’s Recovery Timeline Remains Unclear

After that incident Hardy underwent surgery in Mississippi and returned to Columbia to continue his recovery process with Missouri’s medical staff.

Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz addressed the situation publicly and confirmed that Hardy has already been discharged from the hospital.

Drinkwitz also acknowledged that it is still too early to know whether Hardy will be available for the start of 2026 season.

“There is an opportunity that he’ll be back this year,” Drinkwitz said. “There’s an opportunity he couldn’t be back this year. We won’t know those answers for a few weeks. But he’s got the full support of MU Healthcare and he’s got the full support of our team as we continue to help him recover and work it day by day.”

Despite the uncertainty, Missouri remains positive about his recovery. The coaching staff and medical team are taking a cautious approach with him.

He finished the season really strong, averaged an impressive 6.4 yards and earned All-American recognition after helping Missouri remain competitive in the SEC race throughout the season.

With Hardy expected to enter his 2026 season as a potential NFL Draft prospect, the shooting incident was a major obstacle in his journey.

Authorities have stated that the investigation is still going on. Police have not ruled out the possibility of additional arrests as they continue gathering information related to the shooting.

Earlier in the week, three individuals were temporarily detained in connection with the case before later being released without charges.

For now fans will be eagerly waiting for Hardy’s recovery as the Tigers prepare for the upcoming season.
